Odds and Evens

I can't decide which I like more--the years that are divisible by two or those who defy simplicity by making division inexorably more difficult. 2007 had its ups and downs; 2008, or Y2K8 as I like to call it (but never really do) is already showing potential... what kind of potential it might be, for good or evil, I'm not quite sure of yet.

With the New Year coming in I've jumped on the bandwagon of resolutions. Actually, I think I missed the first one and had to settle for the second-class wagon, where the company's not as good and they charge you for what should be complimentary peanuts. I wonder if since I wasn't at Dick Clark's magical celebration drinking champagne and being kissed when the ball dropped if any resolution I make even counts. If it doesn't, don't tell me.

So getting back to the whole "resolutions" thing... I've resolved to be more outgoing, emphasizing the dating scene. Along with that I resolve to discover the reason why all of my friends have managed to be flying light years ahead of in this area while I'm still puttering around with inferior courting technology.

More important to myself (because I feel I have more control over it), I have resolved to apply for the Arts program at my university. It's incredibly hard to get accepted, but I figured I couldn't keep running around this campus doing something I'm less passionate about without knowing I tried.

I wish everyone else out there in both the real and cybernetic world a happy, or at least tolerable, New Year. May you be fortunate in your pursuits, unless it's a crime, and avoid any falling pianos.

I've decided the problem is you are waaaaaay too clever for the ordinary girl and where do you find extraordinary people these days?!?!?! But good luck on the social scene and remember to never give up!

You are still just 21, I say you have plenty of time to acclimate yourself to the dating world. Of course mission presidents and bishop say otherwise. Anyway, good luck with your resolutions, especially the art program!

I am also so honored to be the winner of your contest. I just hope it wasn't a pity vote, like how Oliver voted for my pathetic gingerbread house :)

So for my prize, I think I would like a portrait of myself, Adam-style, please.

Yes, you are much too clever for those Utah girls (at least, the ones not related to you... ;) But, if you find a dame with a kidnapped-circus-trained hamster, well then, you've got yourself a winner!

Adam, sorry we missed your contest. Even though the prize has been awarded, Uncle D. is working on another clever caption, just for fun.

Mr. Adam Borgia! Greetings :) You have a crazy bloggin' family and I have to admit I am somewhat intimidated by all of you! I really like this blog and I love your posts... I think they're fresh and honest and clever and really fun to read (just so ya know). As far as being "behind" in the romance area as you call it ... I can totally relate. While your sister decided to run off and get married, all of my other friends at the time decided to follow suit... leaving me one semi-lonely and utterly bewildered individual :) I'm glad you're going for the art program! I just have one question, how in the world to we qualify as one of your "business associates" ?!
